Fujairah Country Fair concludes successfullyOn 30th January 2009 from 2pm, Trekking for Nepal team and its volunteers hosted its first Fujairah Country Fair on the grounds of the Fujairah Tennis & Country Club - thanks to the generosity of the management of the club and the Ramada group. We had lots of games stalls from Coconut Shy, Hoop-la, Hook the Duck, Electric Shock, Darts, Ugly Mug competition, Name the Teddy, Guess the Sweets, and a few more besides. In addition there was a dedicated children's section with a bouncy castle, camel rides, face painting, hat making, a clown and lots of other activities. In additio, there was live entertainment with Pete Martin, 11th hour, performances from the local ballet school, kick boxing and karate demonstrations. There was a flea market and a white elephant stall with lots of interesting second hand goods including clothes, books, CDs and DVDs, etc. There were stalls with home-made jams and food items, handicrafts, jewellery and henna painting. There were exciting raffle draws from room nights to beach passes to dinners for two. The fair was an opportunity to help Red Crescent collect clothes and funds for their various projects but mainly the Palestinian Relief project. Close to 1000 people attended the fair and participated in all the activities. To make this a success - Trekking for Nepal has to thank its army of volunteers who baked, pickled, potted, painted, distributed flyers, carried, plied, cajoled, bullied, did whatever was necessary to bring it altogether. We also have to thank the following companies that supported this project: Fujairah Tennis & Country Club, Mix, Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort, Golden Tulip Hotel, Al Marsa Tours, Fujairah Observer, Genius Computer Trading, interFRONTIERS and Airmiles.
