Overview

With an area of 7629 square kilometers,it hosts most of the spectacular and challenging trekking trails of the world. Annapurna conservation area (ACA)is the largest conservation area in Nepal. Approximately 100000 population lives in this area with ethnic groups of gurung ,magar,bhotia,thakali and manangis.their economic is greatly influenced by tourism,agriculture,animal husbandry,trade and service in the army.the climate and condition of this place is tropical to alpine.the highest elevated point in this area is Annapurna I (8091meters).the highest passs of the world,thorang la pass(5416 meters)and tilicho lake ,biggest lake situated in the highest altitude of the world(4919meters)lies in the conservation area.there are about 1233 species of the plants,102 species of animals,488 species of birds ,40 species of reptiles  and 23 species of amphibians.

The most popular trekking destinations are ghandruk,ghorepani,Annapurna base camp,Annapurna circuit,jomsom,muktinath,and manang.there are also special destination place like tilicho lake,nar-phu village trek,ghale kharkha sikles eco trek and upper mustang trek which will either need special preparations or special permits to enter the restricted areas.
